Terms of Service

Welcome to MAEVYN. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of maevyn.pro and all related services (the "Platform"), operated by MAEVYN LLC ("MAEVYN," "we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, subscribing to a listing, or using the Platform in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.

1. What MAEVYN Is (and Isn't)

MAEVYN is a curated directory that connects clients with beauty professionals based on specialty and location. We provide the platform for discovery, comparison, and inquiry.

We are not a party to any appointment, service, or transaction between a client and a professional. We do not employ the professionals listed, we do not supervise their work, and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service booked through a professional found on the Platform. Any arrangement you make with a professional is between you and them.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Professional Listings

MAEVYN is curated. We review every professional who applies, and we reserve the right to approve, reject, pause, or remove any listing at our sole discretion, at any time, with or without notice. A paid subscription does not guarantee approval or continued listing.

By creating a profile, you represent that:

  • You are a licensed or otherwise qualified professional in the services you list, where licensure applies
  • All information, photos, and video on your profile are accurate, current, and yours to use
  • You will not misrepresent your specialties, credentials, pricing, or availability

You retain ownership of the content you upload. By uploading it, you grant MAEVYN a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote that content on the Platform and in MAEVYN marketing (including social media). This license ends when your content is removed from the Platform, except where it already appears in published marketing materials.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Professional listings are offered in paid tiers, billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.

  • Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate for your tier.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel anytime through your billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds for partial periods.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, we'll notify you. If it isn't resolved within 7 days, your listing may be paused until payment is brought current.
  • Price changes. We may change tier pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply at your next renewal.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

5. Founding Member Offer

The first 100 approved professionals who subscribe ("Founding Members") lock in a rate of $29/mo for life and receive Premier-tier features for as long as your subscription remains active and in good standing. Founding Member status is tied to your account, is non-transferable, and is subject to the offer terms published at the time of signup. If a Founding Member cancels, founding status is retained on the account and Premier-tier features resume upon resubscription. MAEVYN reserves the right to end new Founding Member enrollment once 100 seats are claimed or the enrollment window closes, whichever comes first.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is false, misleading, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any business
  • Use the Platform to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to interfere with the Platform's operation
  • Circumvent, disable, or probe any security or access-control feature
  • Use another user's account or attempt to access data that isn't yours

7. Automated Access, Scraping, and Data Harvesting

This section matters. Read it.

The MAEVYN directory exists to protect and promote the professionals on it. You may not:

  • Access the Platform using any automated means, including bots, crawlers, scrapers, spiders, or headless browsers, without our prior written permission
  • Extract, harvest, copy, or compile any data from the Platform, including professional names, contact details, photos, video, pricing, or profile content, whether by automated or manual means, for any purpose outside your personal, non-commercial use of the Platform
  • Use any Platform data to build, train, or improve any database, directory, mailing list, machine learning model, or competing service
  • Bypass or ignore our robots.txt directives, rate limits, or technical access controls
  • Republish, resell, or redistribute Platform content or data in any form

Search engine indexing of public pages in accordance with our robots.txt is permitted. Everything else in this section is prohibited.

Violation of this section is a material breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to block access, terminate accounts, and pursue all available legal remedies, including claims under applicable computer fraud, copyright, and unfair competition laws. Automated access in excess of authorization may violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and equivalent state laws.

8. Inquiries and Communications

When a client submits an inquiry to a professional, the client's name, email, and message are shared with that professional so they can respond. Don't submit inquiries containing spam, solicitation, or abusive content. Professionals may not use inquiry contact information for any purpose other than responding to that inquiry, unless the client separately consents.

9. Affiliate Program

MAEVYN operates an affiliate/referral program through Rewardful. Participation is subject to the program terms presented at enrollment. Affiliate tracking uses cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

The MAEVYN name, logo, branding, site design, and all Platform content we create are our property and protected by trademark and copyright law. You may not use them without written permission. Professional content remains the property of the professionals who uploaded it, licensed to us as described in Section 3.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing information is accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAEVYN LLC and its owners, operators, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform or any service obtained through a professional listed on it. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MAEVYN LLC and its owners, operators, and contractors from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or any service you provide or receive in connection with the Platform.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Platform and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or to protect the Platform and its users. Sections 3 (license, for published marketing), 7, and 10–15 survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, for subscribed professionals, notify you by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
